Chairman and CEO
Ray is a driven entrepreneur with almost 40 years in positions related to trade shows and exhibits, including Greyhound Exposition Services Co. and then United Exposition Service Co. Ray’s experience and unique vision of customer service led to the development of the Single Source Solution® for exhibitors and show managers. He introduced the term general service contracting to the tradeshow industry and created The Expo Group with its patented customer service model. Ray is an organizer and director of The Independent Bank of Texas and is very active in industry and community charities alongside his wife, Linda. Ray holds a bachelor of science degree from Northern Illinois University.
President and COO
Randy has been in the tradeshow industry for more than 20 years. His responsibilities encompass execution of strategic planning as well as day-to-day operation tactics across the enterprise involving sales, service, finance, information technology, and operations. He is an inventor of record for The Expo Group’s Automated Convention Processing System and Method (U.S. Pats. 6,557,007 and 6,721,763), the business process that enables the company to deliver its renowned Single Source Solution®. A Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management from Texas A&M University and post-graduate studies in Owner President Management from Harvard Business School have prepared Randy for transitional leadership.
VP / COS
With almost 20 years of human resources management experience spanning several industries, Mark has proven himself to be a valuable leader excelling in strategic planning, leadership and organizational development, recruitment and selection, State and Federal government regulation compliance, and employee and labor relations. Mark earned a bachelor of business administration degree from the University of New Mexico and a master's in business administration from Colorado Technical University, both with an emphasis in human resources. He is a longstanding member of the Society of Human Resources Management.
Executive VP / CFO
Having joined the company in 2009, Bryan brings over 20 years experience in various senior financial management roles in the manufacturing, warehousing and logistics industries. He ran a steady ship at a few Fortune 500 companies after spending 15 years early in his career at one of the then-Big Eight public accounting firms, Coopers & Lybrand. A licensed CPA and attorney, Bryan holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Baylor University, where he also earned his Juris Doctorate. He is a member of Financial Executives International.
EVP Marketing & Client Strategies
Movie nerd, audiophile, political wonk, theatre geek and fundraiser, Ken Dec is a 30-year marketing veteran having worked on brands including IBM, Starwood Hotels and Resorts, Kaiser Permanente, Pfizer and more from leadership positons at Arnold Worldwide, Hill Holliday, George P. Johnson and MC2. Ken is a published author whose articles and opinions have appeared in The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Ad Age & Adweek, He is a sought-after speaker having presented at Event Marketer conferences, Exhibitor Show, HCEA, AAAAs, IAB, PhARMA, Mobile World Congress and more. Ken also teaches experiential marketing to graduate students at Emerson College.
Nicole leads Experience Design at The Expo Group, overseeing our creative teams to design and deliver unique, compelling and memorable experiences that attract, engage, immerse and reward. Nicole is a 15-year veteran having led the experience design and creative efforts for large associations, corporate events and global brands.
Focusing on attendee-journey-centric design means creating physical, emotional and learning environments that ensure a complete immersion of client’s audiences in their brands for all generations. Nicole’s charging fast into digital engagement design through virtual, augmented and mixed-reality experiences.
Nicole is a firm believer that great design is NOT budget-dependent.
When she’s not leading our design teams, try and catch her between sailing in Buzzards Bay on Cape Cod or snowboarding with her family. Sports and cooking are two of her passions.
Working on both the client and agency side with brands like Intel, Walmart, Chase, Dunkin’ Brands, National Association of Broadcasters, NACS and Prudential, Gary really understands what it takes to deliver a program on time, on budget and on message.
Gary’s been able to move the conversation beyond gear, using his unique insight into combining strategy, creative and his production knowledge, to create fully-integrated audience experiences.
VP Sales Development
Shannon Fitzpatrick McDaniel is a seasoned executive with more than 24 years of experience in the exhibitions and events industry. Before joining The Expo Group, , Shannon’s worked as Chief Operating Officer a general contractor, where she was responsible for all facets of operations and personnel management and oversaw a key acquisition. Prior to that, Shannon was a Director of Account Management handling several multi-million dollar accounts.
Shannon is known for her commitment to clients, team-first attitude and deep understanding of the exhibitions and events business.
She graduated from Virginia Tech, and lives in Virginia Beach with her husband and daughter.
VP Technology & Process
Corey is the mastermind and architect behind The Expo Group's transformational technology platforms. Having spent 20 years developing and architecting cutting-edge applications and frameworks, Corey brings abundant experience and foresight, allowing The Expo Group to push technology boundaries. At the root, Corey believes technology should make life easier, not harder. He leads internal teams to create human-centered solutions designed specifically to support our internal team and our clientele.
A 20-year industry veteran, Michael has led creative teams on unique projects for national television, cross-channel media and in the world live entertainment programs.
On the communications front, Michael has been the driving force behind major creative programs for some of today’s most high-profile brands including: Target, VW, Intel, American Express, 3M, CBS Television and IBM.
VP Communications & Strategic Client Solutions
Dana oversees all communication materials for in-house and client-side programs plus takes an active role in the innovative processes resulting in the creation of strategic and personalized experiential solutions. She is active in social media networks and has developed personalized solutions for several clients to take advantage of the impact of digital tools on events. Dana is a 16-year veteran of the company and the industry, to which she brings a strong service background from her days at Disneyland and a communications background forged in the newspaper industry. She earned bachelor of arts degrees in journalism and in history from Southern Methodist University and is often heard speaking at industry conferences and meetings.
VP Finance & Custom Exhibits
Bringing calm to the oft-chaotic sea of trade shows, Mitch watches over the company’s financial resources and works with colleagues and clients to enact effective solutions. Mitch joined the company in 2014 from custom exhibit house MC2, where he worked in various capacities including finance, operations and executive management. He holds a finance degree from University of Colorado as well as an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
VP Enterprise Operations
Eric Payne relishes the prospect of leaving his fingerprints on the future of this industry and shepherding The Expo Group’s growth. He makes sure the company’s client commitments are met efficiently and consistently as the head of Corporate, Las Vegas, Chicago and future distribution facilities and teams. Eric’s expertise in cost reduction, customer profitability, merger and acquisition, and work stream analysis includes more than a decade at GES. Noting his two degrees from The University of Texas at Austin in addition to a stint at Bain and Company forces admission Eric is no slacker.
VP Strategic Sales
April has been with The Expo Group 20 years and has experience across all departments. This knowledge base allows her to recognize, develop and implement new products and services for trade shows, exhibits and all kinds of events. She is a leader in the industry for creating niche solutions that make the customer’s job easier. April is an inventor of record for The Expo Group’s Automated Convention Processing System and Method (U.S. Pats. 6,557,007 and 6,721,763). She has a bachelor of science degree in clothing, textiles and merchandising from Texas Tech University and is a board member of the Exhibit & Event Marketers Association.
EVP National Accounts
Michael Preston, EVP, National Accounts, has dedicated his 20+ years in the communications industry to digging deeper and truly understanding the critical issues facing his clients. A passionate advocate for the power of face-to-face engagements, Michael has applied his background in journalism and media production to helping create successful engagement solutions for Sprint, Hospira and JP Morgan Chase in the corporate space, and most recently helped guide The University of Chicago’s $4.5B capital campaign launch, the University of Washington’s $5B comprehensive campaign launch and is currently partnering with the University of Florida on the public launch of their campaign scheduled for October 2017.
When not on the road with his clients, Michael and his family- wife Kim, sons Koby and Joe, and daughter Emma, love to tour baseball stadiums around the country.
John Arnott Sr. is now the Managing Director of Healthcare IT services for Konica Minolta Business Solutions, to which he sold his WaveTwo Technology firm. WaveTwo used the latest advances in Business Intelligence and Analytics to solve business problems for hospital systems, physician practices and other healthcare firms. John earned his MBA and BS from DePaul University in Chicago.
Bill LaMothe has built his career on building businesses and currently serves as Chairman of Perimeter Global Logistics advising the Executive Team of this minority owned and operated Logistics Company. He also is Chairman and majority owner of technology company AWTI. Bill started with Marriott Hotels in a management position and then launched his career into the transportation and global logistics industry in 1979. In 1996 he was named Entrepreneur of the Year for the Transportation Sector sponsored by Merrill Lynch and in 2002 awarded Logistics Practitioner of the Year by the Council of Logistics Management. Bill is an alumnus of Concordia University
As President of CoVergence Group, Stirling Vineyard spends his time and energy advising CEOs, business owners, investors, families and high-performing management teams through transitions as their businesses change. He focuses his efforts toward realigning their strategies to help his clients reach their vision, goals and objectives.
Stirling completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Texas Tech University and a Master’s of Business Administration in Finance and Strategy and Entrepreneurship from Southern Methodist University. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Texas.
