The Expo Group Earns Texas Family Business of the Year Award in Well-Managed Category

Irving, Texas - Nov. 9, 2005 - The Expo Group has earned the Well-Managed Award as part of the Texas Family Business of the YearR Awards presented by Baylor University's Institute for Family Business. The award was presented Nov. 3 on the Baylor University campus.

"Family is one of our core values at The Expo Group, and I could not be happier with this recognition," says The Expo Group President and CEO Ray Pekowski. "It is a tribute to my family and all of my employees for their continued dedication to making The Expo Group the premier service company in our industry.

More than 100 businesses across the Lone Star State were nominated for the contest, which was designed to recognize firms whose families demonstrate a commitment to their community and strong business and family values. Judging criteria included success in a company's individual industry, sound succession planning and charitable works. Judges include family business consultants, advisers and principals of family firms.

"As a university which values both family traditions and business accomplishments, we at Baylor are proud to back an event which not only honors the commercial success of these businesses, but also recognizes their commitment to maintaining strong family relationships," said J. David Allen, Director of the John F. Baugh Center for Entrepreneurship at Baylor's Hankamer School of Business.

The Expo Group was founded and is still owned and operated by Ray and Linda Pekowski. Both of their sons, Randy and Robert Pekowski, work for the company.
