Irving, Texas – May 28, 2003 – The Expo Group is pleased to announce the grand opening of its Las Vegas Distribution Center at 2548 W. Desert Inn Road just off the Vegas Strip within close proximity of the city’s convention centers and hotels. “We service a large number of events in Las Vegas and Southern California and this allows us to streamline our service to those areas as well as provides the opportunity to do more business in the area,” says Executive Vice President Dutch Antonisse. “The new distribution center allows us to store our equipment and our customers’ equipment in the western region of the United States. We expect to open a facility on the east coast as well, so that The Expo Group will employ three distribution centers: one central in Dallas, one western in Las Vegas and one eastern.” The Las Vegas Distribution Center has quick access to The Expo Group’s San Jose operation and supports that base operation. The Distribution Center also provides The Expo Group a marshalling yard that can park about 125 trailers. This is vital because most of the area’s facilities do not have marshalling yards to hold trucks before and after loading/unloading. “It’s doing well for us from an operational standpoint. We’ve been able to distribute our equipment more effectively across the country, therefore improving our efficiencies,” Mr. Antonisse says. Dave LeMay, a 25-year industry veteran who began his career in tradeshows as a teamster for GES, has been hired to oversee the Vegas Distribution Center. “The Expo Group is pleased to have somebody in our Vegas operation who knows the ropes and is familiar with labor groups there,” says TEG Operations Manager Chuck Heck. “He knows them, and they know him. Plus, we need the type of warehouse experience Dave has acquired – he knows a little bit about everything, something you can only require through experience.” The Expo Group is the tradeshow industry's Single Source Solution.
